A fine mix

This is just put together well. The beats are perfect it's got speed to it, but another calmer layer that brings a very sophisticated balance to the song. The horns are great, the piano, I don't easily give out tens but this song deserves one. Only thing I'd have against it is it's too short, and I personally don't care for fade outs But that's a personal thing and I wouldn't hold it against anyone.

It is eh...

It starts out great. You have a pretty good rift going for you. I haven't heard the original, but it's good that you're working one it. Do you have a bass guitar? You should get ahead on contacting some one who does and maybe work a little bit on the bass for the song.
There is plenty of other things I could point out but I don't feel like boring you with mechanics and other things you're probably already aware of. Just keep plugging at it and you'll get it down perfect I'm sure.

I actually just started writing a bassline today, I'll probably record that in the next couple weeks.

Your input is definitely appreciated, don't be afraid (at least with my stuff) to point out trivialities or boring stuff, I'm always open to learn from someone else.

Nice idea

The vocals come out a little weak. Better than anything I've ever recorded. It was a good effort, and I like hearing a song that has no synthesizers or drum loops it's different. Just work a little on the vocal delivery .

thanks very much for the comment! I keep getting told I need to work on my vocals, you're not the only one... I should probably go find a teacher in my area to help me get my voice up to par. I took a few lessons in the past but it seems like they weren't enough.

A decent effort

It's not that bad for the first twenty seconds. Some of the notes clash, and in some special places the rhythms sound like they get tangled up. It's all very interesting, but not typically good.

My advice is choose one scale and stick to it most of the way through a song. Also synchronize your melodies with your beats, it sounds better. You don't have to though... the song is okay, it just could be better.

not half bad

The lyrics are poetic, but nothing special. The melody isn't terribly interesting. The rhythm is catchy, you have a few good beats in there. The sound engineering is well done, the star of the show. sounds like you're getting there.

I enjoyed it

Nice beats, I like how it has a marching kind of intro and than slams into more hardcore beats than in the end it intertwines it all together while it breaks down. Nicely done.

Sounds a little familiar, just the way the genre is I guess. But still it's almost perfect. I don't know if I could imagine hearing this at a club, but it could be really great music for a movie soundtrack.

not bad

The rhythm and timing is really good. just add more to it. A few notes are off, like the last note, kind of doesn't fit for some reason.
Still it has the potential to be a good song.

Yeah, I see what you mean, I tried to make it loop as I was finishing it off and it sounded O.K. in FL studio, but here it sounds a bit off, I agree.

The closest thing I could affiliate this sound to would be Evestus meets The Dust Brothers..... the beat is so energetic but the melodies are so calm.
