I get that...

I get what your saying how people think that the higher tech the synth and equipment they're using than the better there song is regardless of compositional input.
I could imagine this in one of those old RPGs kind of like the early Final Fantasy games. But over all it's a fun song, and there is a lot to it for a song that is so simple.

loansindi responds:

Thanks for the review!

Yeah, I always feel like I see new people in the forums going WHERE DO I GET GOOD FREE VSTs for this or that and it's like, work on your composition then worry about the presentation.

Interesting

here is a five on my review one for each of your balls.

But seriously, yeah... the subject of the song kind of strange. But hey, your not the worst singer out there, so you have that going for you. Kind of annoyed with the lack of instrumentation to accompany the song but whatever. I think you could do better as a vocalist... just get some music and think of better a better subject for a song perhaps. Sorry for the lack of humor, but it just isn't funny enough to stand on its own.

JAFT responds:

One for each ball... XD Oh my gosh.

I'll see what I can do, I don't have any equipment or programs, but I'll find a way. Thanks for the review, I wasn't expecting one. XD

Maybe some piano...

wow

Kind of reminds me of music from Doom somehow. But that certainly not a bad thing. Rhythmically this song is brilliant, and that's what really stands out. I'm not talking about the beat either, the beat is fine... but the melody just has this really cool sounding rhythm to it.

Nice work.

clone3872 responds:

thank you and i thought it would suck

I like

The intro kind of scared me, I was prepared for the worst. But than the beat came in and I was alright with it, and the melody was pretty solid. But what really stood out to me was the lead synth, nice work with that. I wish more people added that kind of variation to their songs. I also wish I had that kind of compositional skill to use more bold synth solos myself.

BallinFatty responds:

thanks. a lot of my intros are weird, but ppl tend to stick around to hear whats next

if you keep practicing, i'm sure you could pull it off. my solo compostion used to be terrible, but after a while, i picked up on it. and now look at it!!

anyways i'm glad you enjoyed it. thanks again for the review, 9, and your time in listening

not bad

At first I wasn't sure where you were going with this one, but I had a feeling it was going to be good. I mean the beat is kind of generic in the beginning, but you have that opening melody that is simple but funky, and that just keeps the whole song interesting.

GrysonOC responds:

Well thats really what I was going for. Underestimation. Kind of appropriate for a cubicle worker, eh?

good idea

You could flesh it out a bit more. I don't think I really hear the guitar so much... it all sounds like VST, I may be wrong though I apologize for the assumption if I am. I say replace everything you can with real guitar, even the solo. Practice that solo until you get it down it's an excellent opportunity to practice moving around the fretboard.

Jimruss responds:

Thanks for the advice!
Your right about the guitar, I agree that it would sound a lot better if it was real but it will be a long time before I can play that solo well. I am only 12.
Have you listened to Bellambiance yet?
Do you play guitar as well?

pretty good

there is a lot to this song. Most of it's great, bass line is awesome the synth melodies are catchy and have a fairly dramatic almost epic feel to them. The beat is okay, but nothing terribly interesting, at least to me anyway. But overall it's some good work.

NomadFixbot responds:

Thanks man, that's a much better review than what I expected. I'm still pretty new at using FL Studio and making electronica but I've been having a lot of fun with it and I'm glad you liked it!

interesting.

this is a strange little tune. kind of the fence about it but I guess I like it. Although it is unusual that only helps it to stand out. It's pleasant and quirky. Good work.

fnordprefect responds:

Thank you.

I like it

I always love songs that sound this way. They remind me of nineties RPG and stratagy games. nostalgia. And I always make a mess of them when give them a try so how can I look past the skill and effort you put into this.

ghook responds:

Thanks!

excellent

Representativeness aside it's pretty good. Nice rhythm, and I like the over all atmosphere.

SilverGorilla responds:
